The CSS Bilingual Wellness program provides individualized advocacy for Portuguese adults, educating and informing them on prescriptions, health insurance, rights and responsibilities. The program deals with health service providers and primary phone calls, and empowering patients to access available resources and make occasional office visits.

Provided in the Bilingual Wellness programs are workshops on the English language, health and the American health care system (health-related ESL), including Portuguese workshops on health and other medical topics.

Bilingual Wellness works closely as part of our local health access collaborative with local care providers, developing strategies based on the needs presented by clients. Financial assistance for prescriptions and other health care related issues is available for those most in need.

In addition we run the Portuguese Millenium groups in Fall River and New Bedford. Each group is designed to give elders a place to enjoy the company of other Portuguese elders, engage in recreational and social activities, hear about local resources and opportunities, share a meal, and participate in excursions and trips. This program also coordinates the Portuguese Elder Center in Fall River.

Also, we have classes and trainings in Basic English for Lifelong Learning, English as a Second Language, and Citizenship.
